Fabulous films

In our mission to share useful resources with you, the time has come to talk about the Royal Institution’s  brilliant Ri Channel- packed with engaging videos on loads of different themes.  Beautifully made films tell tales of leaping lizards and criminal penguins, mending a broken heart and what’s inside your head.

What's inside your head?

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

Plus scientists talk science (of course)  in the lecture series.

Wonderful. Enjoy!

Chemical Romance

Do you teach chemistry? Need some ideas or stimuli to get some juicy classroom discussions going? Well here goes!

Jennifer, one of our readers, pointed us in the direction of this brilliant resource: 15 Amazing TED Talks for Chemistry Geeks.

An array of chemical flasks

Chemistry is beautiful

From synthetic life to bacterial communication to the science of breadmaking, this is a great collection of fascinating and informative lectures from the TED conferences. Use them in your classroom to hook in/inform your students (or get them to watch the film at home before the lesson, as they are 15-20 minutes long).

Thanks for the fantastic tip Jennifer! And to the rest of you out there- if there is something wonderful you come across (a useful resource, an event, a great idea), we’d love to help spread the word- do drop us a line :)
