Exactly a decade ago today, on 15 December 2015, the Science Museum’s Energy Hall was buzzing with excitement. Thousands of school children, members of the public, museum staff, and people across the space sector, had gathered to witness a moment of history.

Over 400 school pupils packed into the Science Museum IMAX Theatre in London on 16 October for a special Q&A with the UK’s first European Space Agency astronaut, Tim Peake.

Astronauts Tim Peake and Tim Kopra wowed hundreds of school children with tales from the International Space Station (ISS) on the same day the European Space Agency (ESA) attempted to land the Schiaparelli module on Mars.
