From the building you live in to the road you will take on your way to the museum, explore the scientific phenomena hiding in our world.

STOP 1: TECHNICIANS: THE DAVID SAINSBURY GALLERY 

Start your tour in Technicians: The David Sainsbury Gallery on level 1, and discover an interactive world of career exploring the hidden yet vital roles of technicians. Set foot inside Shuri’s Lab from Marvel Studios’ Black Panther to re-enact the role of a film-set lighting technician, or try your hand at welding a rollercoaster track. 

Stop 2: Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries

Start your tour in Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries and take a closer look at our relationship with medicine and health over the last 500 years.

Step into the Medicine and Communities gallery to explore the medical challenges of living in an increasingly urbanised world and how our behaviour can affect our health.

Stop 3: Wonderlab

Ignite your curiosity and think like a scientist in Wonderlab and immerse yourself in a world of wonder at the most spectacular interactive gallery in the world.

STOP 4: PATTERN POD 

Visiting with little ones? Head back to the ground floor to visit our free interactive gallery Pattern Pod. This multi-sensory area allows children can to water ripples without getting their feet wet, create symmetrical images on touch screens, follow robot trails and much more. 

STOP 5: WHO AM I?

What makes you smarter than a chimp? What makes you smile? What makes you, you? Visit our Who Am I? gallery on Level 1 to explore the science of who we are through intriguing objects, artworks and interactive exhibits. Investigate some of the characteristics that make humans such a successful species, such as personality, intelligence and language. 

Where to eat: 

Refuel at The Diner, where you can grab a stone-baked sourdough pizza fresh off the oven, but also salads, hot drinks and desserts.  

Try at home:

Continue the fun at home with Wonderlab+, the Science Museum Group’s free learning website that brings science to life through creative and fun experiments and games. Solve a mysterious power cut in Total Darkness, an adventure game which encourages children to use their science skills, learn about chemical reactions with things you can find around the house, or watch videos where Science Museum explainers break down the science behind space rockets.
